Illinois VGT success for Lottomatica subsidiary

27 January 2012

Italian lottery and gaming operator Gruppo Lottomatica SpA has announced that its Spielo International Canada subsidiary has been granted a manufacture licence by the Illinois Gaming Board that will see it provide its products and services for the state’s new video gaming terminal (VGT) market.

Moncton-based Spielo International Canada will now be able to supply its player-tested prodiGi Vu and Vu Slant terminals to VGT operators in Illinois along with a suite of poker and line games via a distribution agreement with American Gaming and Electronics Incorporated.

Spielo International Canada stated that it expects to begin selling VGTs along with related games in the Midwestern state via American Gaming and Electronics once the Illinois Gaming Board begins granting operator licenses.

“We’re pleased that Spielo has been approved to offer its products to the Illinois market,” said Walter Bugno, President and Chief Executive Officer for Lottomatica’s Spielo International Gaming Division, which includes Spielo International Canada.

“In similar operator-based markets such as South Dakota and Montana our games and terminals are top performers. In Oregon, which is very similar to Illinois in regards to locations and maximum machine requirements, our prodiGi Vu VGT continues to be the top-performing terminal. Based on our extensive experience and results-driven track record, we’re confident that we can provide Illinois operators with the same exceptional results.”
