30 January 2012

American computerised gaming equipment designer and manufacturer International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a six-year contract extension with the University of Iceland Lottery. Las Vegas-based IGT began its partnership with the University of Iceland Lottery in 1993 after the institution of higher education received government approval to operate video lottery terminals and stated that its new deal will see it install 230 new G MLD cabinets featuring its ‘unrivaled graphics and renowned three-dimensional’ technology.
“This agreement is a testament to IGT's unwavering customer commitment,” said Craig Churchill, International Senior Vice-President for IGT.
“By continuing to offer a streamlined, integrated, innovative games and systems solution, IGT will help the University of Iceland Lottery provide a cutting-edge player experience.”
The University of Iceland Lottery currently operates 500 gaming machines on an exclusive basis in 35 in bars, taverns and arcades throughout the Nordic nation and the new agreement will see IGT replace 230 Trimline terminals with the same number of its new G MLD units.
“The University of Iceland Lottery management is thrilled to continue our long-term relationship with IGT, which enables us to deliver engaging content and exciting gaming experiences to our patrons,” said Bryndis Hrafnkelsdottir, Chief Executive Officer for the University of Iceland Lottery.
