GTECH G2 releases casino software update

26 May 2010

GTECH G2, the interactive subsidiary of leading American gaming technology and services firm GTECH Corporation, is set to roll out its latest casino software update this week containing an original slot title, Mystic Island.

The new update has been evaluated and certified by London-based independent player protection and standards organisation eCommerce And Online Gaming Regulation And Assurance (eCOGRA) and features a new slots engine that was developed by GTECH G2’s Game Studio group complete with support for advanced odds tables and built-in bonus games.

“The new slot engine means that we can experiment more and add new features to our games,” said Dominic Mansour, Head Of Gaming Products for GTECH G2.

“We can go outside the box and are not so bound to the reel patterns and traditional way we built slot games before.”

GTECH G2 stated that Mystic Island was inspired by the television series Lost and, like all titles set to be built using its new slots engine, comes complete with in-game bonus rounds and features such as Cascading Slot Symbols, crazy wilds with multipliers and 'interactive spin stops' to enhance players’ experiences.

“This software release and the first new game are just a taste of what’s to come in future game design,” said Mikael Hjalmarson, Senior Casino Engineer for Game Studio.

“The new engine gives us the freedom to turn our wildest ideas into interactive games.”
