Four-Year Extension For GTECH

Leading American gaming technology and services firm GTECH Corporation has signed a four-year contract extension with Washington’s Lottery to continue providing online lottery technology and ongoing services alongside new self-service products and software enhancements.

Providence-based GTECH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica, one of the world’s largest commercial lottery operators, and revealed that the extension will begin in July of 2012 and is expected to generate total revenues around $50 million.

GTECH stated that it currently provides Washington’s Lottery with a full range of products including its Enterprise Series system solution along with more than 4,000 Altura terminals, approximately 4,000 Ticket-Scan machines and 1,450 self-service lottery product vending machines.

“Customer retention is very important to the ongoing success of GTECH,” said Jaymin Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer for GTECH.

“We have created a true partnership with Washington’s Lottery over the past 15 years. During that time, we have helped it to expand its retailer base into new locations and we have provided it with greater content integration capabilities and improved flexibility to customise game offerings in its retail locations through a variety of self-service offerings.

“We value our relationship with Washington’s Lottery and will continue to assist it over the next several years to increase profits to fund important programmes in Washington State.”

Under the terms of the extension, GTECH is to provide Washington’s Lottery with Lottery To Go vending machines in addition to central system software enhancements. The Rhode Island firm is also set to supply ongoing services including the operation and maintenance of the Lottery’s online and instant central system, terminals and communications network as well as field service, marketing support and hotline management.
