Forest Sponsorship For Victor Chandler
14 July 2009

Online gambling and betting provider Victor Chandler has signed a ‘significant’ six-figure deal to serve as the official sponsor of English Championship soccer team Nottingham Forest for the upcoming season.
The Championship is the second-tier of soccer for England and Wales and Nottingham Forest safely avoided relegation last season after achieving promotion to the division from the lower League One the season before.
The one-year deal will see Victor Chandler’s brand appear on the team’s home and away shirts while the London-based firm will also have a presence around the team’s City Ground stadium and become the official in-house betting partner.
In addition, former Nottingham Forest player Viv Anderson has been appointed as Victor Chandler’s Football Ambassador. Capped 30 times by England, the Nottingham native made 328 appearances over ten years as a defender and scored 15 goals.
“I am delighted with the agreement to sponsor Nottingham Forest and to welcome on board someone steeped in Nottingham Forest history as Viv Anderson is,” said Victor Chandler, Chairman for the firm.
“Nottingham Forest have been a pleasure to deal with and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for both organisations. My only concern is offering the 40/1 top price about them winning the Championship this season.”
Nottingham Forest is one of the most famous teams in UK soccer having won the prestigious European Cup in 1979 and 1980 under legendary manager Brian Clough. However, the side has struggled since 1999 when it was relegated from the top-flight before it dropped even lower in 2005.
“We are delighted to have secured a sponsorship deal with such a prestigious sporting brand,” said Mark Arthur, Chief Executive for Nottingham Forest.
“It’s the largest investment Victor Chandler has made in the world of football and we’re honoured it has chosen to link-up with us. We’re looking forward to what we hope will prove to be a hugely successful partnership.”
