05 October 2009

Gibraltar-based online gaming operator 888 Holdings has announced that its Dragonfish independent business-to-business division has signed a strategic agreement with South African firm Tsogo Sun Gaming Group.
Tsogo Sun Gaming is one of the largest hotel and entertainment groups in South Africa with seven casinos and the deal will see Dragonfish provide it with gaming services for the land-based firm’s first moves into the online arena.
The two firms will establish a joint venture in South Africa to initially offer a licensed sportsbook before moving on to casino, poker and bingo domains once the nation has instituted a more developed regulatory regime.
“Dragonfish's technology infrastructure provides an excellent platform for partnerships with land-based casinos,” said Gabi Campos, Managing Director for Dragonfish.
“This partnership is the first of many targeted at regulated markets where Dragonfish's partners operate under local licenses and enjoy the benefits of such regulatory arrangements. Tsogo Sun Gaming's casinos provide a world-class personalised gaming experience and, through partnering with Dragonfish, we can provide it with cutting-edge online gaming solutions to convert its strong brand into a successful position in the online gaming world.'
The deal will see Dragonfish provide Tsogo Sun Gaming with online games and technology alongside payment processing systems and a call centre. Tsogo Sun Gaming is also set to receive customer relationship management systems as well as online marketing and business analytics.
“Tsogo Sun Gaming is a dynamic and innovative leader of gaming in South Africa so our move into online gaming is a natural progression for the business,” said Marcel Von Aulock, Chief Financial Officer for Tsogo Sun Gaming.
“Dragonfish has a proven pedigree in online gaming technology delivery and this partnership provides an excellent platform to expand our offering.”
