Devilfish Launching Monthly Newsletter Campaign
02 November 2009

Devilfish Gaming, the firm behind online casino and poker room Devilfish.com, has signed an agreement with leading multi-channel marketing software provider smartFOCUS.
The deal will see the Bristol-based marketing firm provide Devilfish with cost-effective and targeted monthly newsletter campaigns that could see up to 100,000 e-mails dispatched each month.
Devilfish has also implemented software from smartFOCUS that has been designed to increase the effectiveness of its communication while also improving customer retention, a vital concern in the increasingly competitive online gaming industry.
Devilfish revealed that it would be able to monitor the click-through and open rates of its newsletters while also investigating further for increased analysis. The e-newsletters are being rolled out across all of its non-US markets including Europe and Asia.
“In online gaming, it’s important to communicate with customers and smartFOCUS has helped us do this much more effectively,” said Paul Barnes, Chief Executive Officer for Devilfish.
“As a result, we have increased customer retention. Being able to segment our database allows us to accurately target customers with information that is relevant to them and this is something they appreciate.”
Before implementing the smartFOCUS system, Devilfish stated that it had no technical newsletter system in place. However, it had been looking for a scalable and affordable way to regularly announce special offers.
“Over the last couple of years, online gambling sites have discovered a growing need for reliable, tailored e-marketing,” said Bryan Black, Sales Director for smartFOCUS Digital.
“smartFOCUS has proved itself as the number one choice for this sector and Devilfish is a great brand for us to work with. Our software can deliver maximum results with minimum investment. Devilfish has proved this and is operating a skilful and successful newsletter programme.”
