Continent 8 Technologies expands to France
17 March 2010

Isle Of Man-based Continent 8 Technologies has announced the premiere of a point of presence (POP) in Paris to take advantage of its growing customer base as the French gaming market opens.
It stated that this opening would be followed shortly by ‘co-location facilities and managed services’ in order to enhance its private network capabilities while adding geographical redundancy for network connections between Europe, North America and Asia.
Continent 8 has provided state-of-the-art outsourced Internet infrastructure and related managed hosting services to the iGaming industry for twelve years. It revealed that the improvements to its network would help it to expand its global presence, which currently unites its data centres and will link France with London, the Isle Of Man, Malta, Gibraltar, Singapore and Kahnawake using dedicated connections.
In addition to the new POP, the firm revealed that its presence in Paris would allow it to increase its peering agreements in addition to those already established in London and Montreal. Continent 8 stated that increasing network capability and diversity ‘allows for continued development of existing products and services such as disaster recovery, distributed denial of service protection and content delivery network services’.
“Our investment in network and facilities is to provide our customer’s customers with the best online experience available,” said Michael Tobin, Chief Executive Officer for Continent 8.
“As traffic and requirements of our clients increase, Continent 8 is committed to providing leading-edge services to meet growing sophisticated demands.”
