21 April 2009

888 Holdings, one of the world’s largest online gaming operators, has signed a deal with identification verification vendor 192Business that will see it able to verify player identity data in less than one second during the account creation process.
The operator will use 192Business’ Check-ID solution as part of its player acquisition strategy to verify player’s identity without impairing customer experience.
“This player verification technology is a critical tool for 888 as we expand further into new markets,” said Eran Gonen, Senior Vice-President for 888.
Almost 1,000 companies utilise 192Business’ identification verification solutions to authenticate customer identity including global brands such as Panasonic, RBS Worldpay and Sony. 888 revealed that benefits would include robust player verification to help prevent identification fraud and underage gambling while detecting and disrupting money laundering.
“Player verification enables us to go into new markets safely and responsibly,” said Ruth Tanami, Director Of Responsible Gaming for 888.
“It not only minimises paper-based player identity checking that impairs the customer experience but maintains our commitment to being a socially responsible operator by preventing underage players accessing our gaming sites.”
“It’s great that we can help leading operators implement faster and safer player acquisition processes,” said David Pope, Director for 192Business.
“Our global player identification check solutions are used by leading operators such 888, PKR and 32Red.”
