It’s blindingly obvious that every Internet gaming operator has only two real challenges on the money front: getting money in securely, and paying it out efficiently. It’s also a given that in one way or another, this requires an interface with the banking and money movement system in every jurisdiction where it is intended to do business. Given that every operator has a sophisticated level of ability to manage thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of player accounts, managing cash flow through a relatively small number of bank accounts should not seem so difficult by comparison. Why, then, are the majority of gaming companies reluctant to manage their own payment relationships and so very dependent on competent third party providers?
