Play Monte Carlo, interactive TV’s newest betting service, launched Thursday 1st May on Sky Active. Available to Sky digital households in the UK, the service was developed and is operated by BettingCorp and allows digital satellite viewers to play a choice of “fixed odds” betting games using their Sky remote.

Play Monte Carlo’s products include dice (‘Monte Carlo Dice’), a slots offering (‘Jungle Fever’), football - themed keno (‘TotoBalls’) and arcade horseracing (launching in mid-May). Players can either play for fun or play for real money with stakes as little as 20p and with the ability to win up to ₤20,000 in one go.

Play Monte Carlo was created in-house by BettingCorp’s own development team. It uses BettingCorp’s proprietary technology allowing distribution across interactive TV, the Internet and wireless platforms enabling customers to bet through a single account. It also benefits from BettingCorp’s sophisticated CRM modules which allow for advanced personalisation and tailoring of propositions.

Commenting on the launch of Play Monte Carlo, BettingCorp CEO Michael Lobel, said “There is a huge appetite amongst TV viewers for these types of products and we expect to see the service flourish. We are very happy to be launching Play Monte Carlo on Sky digital, adding to our TotoPools service, which is already operational on the platform, and we are committed to improving and adding state of the art services and applications.”

Richard Flint, Director Of Betting & Gaming at Sky Interactive adds “Play Monte Carlo adds to the great line up of third party fixed odds betting services available on Sky Active and will benefit from the popularity of interactive betting via the remote control on Sky.”
